Gymnastics fun!

I put Jonathan and Ashley in gymnastics class for the summer. Ashley is in a class for 3 and 4 year olds and Jonathan is in a parent-child class for kids that are around 2. They both had a great time! Ashley love walking on the balance beams and Jonathan liked that too, but he especially liked running back and forth. This place is great...very kid-friendly and the people were nice there. Sorry there aren't really any pictures of Jonathan in action...I had to help him.

Ashley finished her 1st year of preschool!

Ashley is done with preschool until the end of summer. She went to St. Cecilia preschool which is at our local Catholic church, and I can't say enough great things about it! She has really learned so much. I didn't know she loved art so much until she started doing projects in her class, and she is so content to paint, or play with clay, or color and draw. She enjoys the social interaction with the other kids her age, and adores her teachers. She can write her name, and knows the letters of the alphabet when she sees them (though we're still working on reciting it in sequence). I was really touched at the parent tea they held on the last day watching her sing and attempt to do the sign language that went along with the songs. I can't wait until she can go back in September!
Brian's 31st birthday

It was a pretty uneventful birthday for Brian. He had to work, and on top of that worked late, so it was a quick dinner and cake event. We gave him roses...I picked 3 red, Ashley picked 3 peach ones, and Jonathan picked out 3 white ones. I made him lasagna roll-ups and garlic bread for dinner, and a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting for his birthday cake.
First visit to the dentist

Ashley and Jonathan had their first visit to the dentist! Ashley was very brave and a great big sister to show Jonathan that he didn't have to be scared. She cooperated very well, and after a few moments of apprehension, so did Jonathan. They got to pick out their own toothbrushes (Barbie and Blue's Clues), and their flavor of toothpaste. I am so proud of them!
